Final Week of the Regular Season

San Francisco at Denver

Well did anyone watch the San Fran / Denver game? I did late in the game. There were some strange calls there towards the end with the challenges. But outside of that what an exciting game. San Fran wins in OT.

But last night, Denver didn't just lose their final game and playoff spot. Darrent Williams was gunned down, corner back for the Broncos was killed. Williams just 24 years old, and just finished his second season with the Broncos.

Da Bears, I understand they didn't need that win, but you could at least try a little. Oh, and if that was a try, what a sorry bunch of misfits. I don't care what excuses there are, you do NOT go into the playoffs like that. Chicago, probably 1 game left. bla bla bla...

The Chiefs, wow, two weeks ago I said they had a slim to nothing chance of making it. WELL they did! They needed help and they got it.

Next week:

Chiefs @ Colts

Saturday, 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC

I take the Chiefs just because, I like their running game. This converts to clock management. Colts haven't seemed to worry about the run all season, allowing tons of yards. Dungy is a good coach, and likes to appear in the playoffs, but that is about as far as it goes.

Cowboys @ Seahawks

Saturday, 8 p.m. ET on NBC

Neither team is blasting into the playoffs. But I like the Cowboys in this game. I am counting on Parcells to have the Cowboys prepared.

Jets @ Patriots

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET on CBS

I like the Patriots at home, and this ain't their first rodeo. They have not only been to 3 of the last 5 Super Bowls, but also won 3 of the last 5 Super Bowls. Winning each by only 3 points.

Giants @ Eagles

Sunday, 4:30 p.m. ET on FOX

I'll take Philly in this one. They appear to be on a roll.... Let's see if they can ride this one out...

Special Mention:
Goes out to the Oakland Raiders for wrapping up the first overall pick of the 2007 draft. Maybe Quinn will come on board. None the less they were in a Super Bowl just 4 years ago, let's get it "back" together. Art Shell needs a little more time.

See ya in a week...

I didn't watch all of it but alot of it. I really enjoyed the game, watching an over confident team get beat and lose out of the playoffs. Pretty funny !!!

My thoughts on the bears game, I agree and disagree, Anyone can say what they want about not needing a win, But noone will tell me that Urlacher wasnt trying. I think they
came into this game thinking they were going to smoke the packers and what happens just the opposite and also think about all the film they let out there showing there weakness, Well let me tell you the teams that are potentially going to play the bears for the top spot are looking at that and gettting more confident about beating them, The only thing I would believe about the bears saying it didnt mean anything is it wouldnt of if they would of came out with the third string at the begiing of the game, But they didnt andthey showed the rest of the NFL how easy it is going to be to beat them, I think lovey should be ashamed of himself for that spectacle.

picks for next week in my opinion

Colts over KC
I don't feel that KC will score enough.

Seattle over Dallas
Parcells might have them ready but to much going on there.

New England over Jets
To much experience in New england

Philly over New york
Ely isnt Payton or Archie hahaha.
and Garcia is going for a starting Job.

Here is the way I see the first round panning out:

KC vs IND
I think this is going to be a great game to watch if you like offense. I personally like KC in this game. Larry Johnson is averaging 111.8 yds per game and Indy gives up over 170 yds per game. That puts way to much of the burden on Peyton Manning. In the end this should be a close game and Manning will get a chance to win it at the end.

DAL vs SEA
Which Cowboys team will show up in Seattle for this one? I still think Dallas wins this game. Seattles defense is very 'loose' all around. Ranked 19th overall, 16th against the pass and 22nd vs the run. Dallas hasn't had any problem scoring, they just can't seem to stop the passing game. Hasselbeck hasn't impressed me since his return and the last I saw Jackson (their leading receiver) is listed as doubtful.

NYG vs PHI
I don't need to go into as much detail on this one. Philly is going to absolutely destroy the Giants (thus leading Eli Manning into an alcohol-induced coma). The Giants have the 25th ranked defense in the league and are 28th against the pass. Philly is 2nd in total offense and 3rd in passing. Garcia throws for over 400 yds and the Giants leave the field in tears.

NYJ vs NE
The playoffs are here and Tom Brady is in this game (need I say more). Once again the Patriots quietly put up a solid season and are poised to make a run at another championship. This is just a scrimmage for New England, a tune-up game. The Jets are 20th in total defense and 25th in total offense. How they won as many games as they did is amazing. In my opinion, New England is the only AFC team that I think are capable of knocking off the Chargers.

alright alright...
so I was 2/2 for the week, but I did take 2 upsets.
Anyway, who expected a Colts defense to not allow a first down by the Chiefs until the 3rd quarter? Have the Colts hibernated all season, or was the defensive stand a fluke?

Dallas, all I can say here, is Romo was one snap off. I think with that FG, the Seahawks would not have made the drive back down the field. But we'll never know. Great game right down to the finish, that was NFL playoffs right there. I would call on Dallas again, Parcells had them prepared and they came to win. fumble... I think we'll see a lot of Romo next year.

Patriots, no surprise here... That team is well put together and well coached. Their is so much playoff experience on that team, regualr season is more like practice for them. These are their games... Next week in San Diego should be explosive...

Eagles, hold off the Giants. I like Garcia, good bye to McNabb? I could only hope. I like that Garcia had to go take the pics out of McNabb's hands. McNabb was pointing things out to some of the players and Jeff, was like... uh hey I need to look at those... ha ha, thanks to the announcers for pointing that story out...
